Olafur Eliasson

Olafur Eliasson is a Danish-Icelandic artist, born in 1967, he is one of the most famous contemporary artists using elements of light, water and temperature to enhance the audience's experience. Eliasson has been working on creating works that focus on the concept of perception and how to interpret everyday life. He is fascinated by prisms, optical devices, crystals and mirrors, and is known for using elemental materials such as stone, water, ice and light (Solway 2016). He founded Olafur Eliasson studio in Berlin, a space research laboratory. In his work, he explores the relationship between the individual and his surroundings. He has a very strong sensitivity to art. In this study, he combines space and sound. According to Olafur Eliasson (2008), ‘this solidifies time, thus drawing the con-tours of a three-dimensional object in space, in other words: sound vibrations can be turned into tangible objects. He uses the production tool to record the vibration of the stringed instrument in a drawing manner, and records the sound through the tool using the drawing in the form of sound vibration.
In the audio I created, I recorded a few different pieces of element around UTS, which was played by several different instruments, and I used premiere to combine them, with intense soothing, different use. The channels combine them. My audio contains guitar cucurbits and harp, which are recorded around UTS. In the process of editing, I combined them through different channels to form a new piece of music. When I created my own drawing, I received the inspiration from Eliasson, because I chose the sound of the instrument, so I used the twine to simulate the strings, use hemp as my tool, and fixed the three lines of different colors on the paper because I used a watercolor paint so I sprayed a proper amount of water on the paper so that the paint can be better smudged and blended with the paper when the line is plucked. I used red yellow and blue pigments to represent the emotions of different sounds produced by different instruments. The guitar is intensely red, the cucurbit is bright and bright, and the harp is deep and melodious. I used the rhythm of the instrument to move the hemp rope and leave marks on the paper. This is the painting I created through this study and research. I feel that I combined Olafur Eliasson's method with my own ideas.
